Bibliography: More Jatakas: The Three Fishes

This story is about three fishes. Their names are Thoughtful, Very-Thoughtful, and Thoughtless. The three of them moved from their old home to a river close to a town. Very-Thoughtful felt that living there would bring danger upon them. This was due to the fact that they were now near a town where people would go fishing. "Let's go back to the wild country" said Very-Thoughtful. The other two fishes were lazy and greedy and therefore kept putting off their move back to the wild country. Then one day, a fisherman came to the river and got Thoughtful and Thoughtless to swim into the net. Very-Thoughtful saw this and acted to save them. He made splashes to make the fisherman think that the fishes had escaped. The fisherman then pulled the net letting the other fishes out. After this event, Thoughtful and Thoughtless agreed to return to the wild country. They all returned to their old home and lived in peace.
