Bibliography: Jatakas: The Quail and the Falcon
This story is about a quail that lived on a farm. On that farm, he was happy and safe. Never did he have to hunt for his food and struggle. One day he decided to fly away from the farm to see if he could fend for himself. He saw a forest and was gravitated to fly toward it. As he got closer a falcon spotted him and immediately snatched the quail. The quail screamed "what have I done? If only I stayed home this wouldn't have happened." Hearing that, the prideful falcon disagreed. The falcon believed that no matter what or where the quail was, he would have been able to capture him. The quail told him "but it's surrounded with many clods!" The falcon disregarded that and was confident in his ability to catch the quail, so he let him go. He let the quail fly away to his home to show him how great he was. The quail flew to his home and perched on a clod, and ass the falcon got closer he dodged him by jumping onto another wedge. With that being said, the falcon collided with the clod and died.
